Lid-It Recipes: Venison complete meal

At Pup & Kit we're on a mission to make mealtimes better. That's why we've partnered with APNC registered Pet Nutritionist Aneesha Ghuman, who has formulated a series of recipes for you and your four legged friend.

ALL THE GOODNESS IN ONE MEAL

This Venison meal is one for the puppy lovers. Its venison base and additional seaweed power creates a healthy, well-rounded mealtime for dogs.

INGREDIENTS

1.5kg Venison – Can be ground or this can be done during preparation
650g Kale (raw and chopped)
400g Eggs, hard-boiled (chopped without shells)
150g Beef liver (chopped)
370g Dried spirulina
95g Brazil nuts (chopped)
70g Tinned Drained Salmon
25g Eggshell powder
350mg Choline - Can use 1g 100% Choline capsules, 350mg per capsule, only use the inside of the capsule, throw away the casing
Fettle Seaweed Powder (not suitable for dogs suffering with thyroid issues)

The addition of seaweed powder is not suitable for dogs suffering with thyroid issues

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Chop the kale, liver, venison and salmon, or use pre-ground meat if preferred.

Step 2: Hard-boil the eggs for about 7 minutes, then cool, peel, and chop them.

Step 3: Chop the Brazil nuts.

Step 4: In a pan, combine the meat, salmon, kale, Brazil nuts and eggs. Add water, cover, and cook on low heat until the meat is fully cooked and the kale is softer (or until an internal temperature of 75°C is reached).

Step 5: Remove from heat.

Step 6: Mix in any additional dry ingredients, including the eggshell powder and the choline.

Step 7: Serve with the cooking broth.

STORING ADVICE

Store leftovers in an airtight container. Portion meals for the day and keep the rest in the fridge.

*Before serving, sprinkle over the Fettle Seaweed Powder.

Feeding Guide for Fettle Seaweed Powder

SMALL Dogs (≤10 kg) ¼ tsp
